This page is a Get Going Fast setup guide and setup-helper page for Rope, a local image and video editing workflow. The goal is to help members set up the tool on their own Windows systems with clearer steps, support notes, and fewer manual setup headaches.
Some setup paths require large third-party dependencies from upstream public sources. Get Going Fast does not host or sell those model files. The setup helper focuses on setup automation, organization, and guidance so users can retrieve required dependencies from their original sources when needed.

Warning: the portable version is incompatible with the NVIDIA 50 series. If you own a 5090, 5080, or 5070 you must use the manual version instead.
Rope includes a powerful feature called markers, which lets you change tracking and mask settings dynamically during playback. This gives Rope accurate and stable results that most tools cannot match.
For AMD users, ROOP Floyd may be a better fit:

q) Why does the portable version not work on the NVIDIA 50 series?
a)
The portable setup helper includes a fixed version of PyTorch that does not support the 5090, 5080, and 5070. If you own a 50 series GPU you must use the manual setup.
q) I see "Camera index out of range" or "obsensor stream channel error." What does it mean?
a)
This is normal and does not affect operation. Rope is checking for a compatible camera device and Windows reports none. You can ignore it and continue.
q) Rope says "Rope-Live.Setup.exe not found." What am I doing wrong?
a)
Most likely you ran the extractor as Administrator. Double click it normally without using Run as Admin.
q) I get curl errors during setup. What should I do?
a)
Curl errors are almost always internet interruptions while retrieving third-party setup dependencies. Rope setup can involve large upstream files, and unstable connections can break mid transfer.
q) The setup helper says "curl is not recognized as a command." How do I fix that?
a)
Curl must be enabled on your system. Windows 11 includes it by default. Windows 10 users may need to add it to PATH or update Windows.
q) Does Rope support batch processing for a folder of pictures?
a)
Not yet. Rope processes single images or full videos. For batch stills you can use ROOP.
q) Rope says it does not work on my computer. How do I check my system?
a)
Run this and post the results:
checker.getgoingfast.pro
It will show you GPU, driver, Python, CUDA, and dependency readiness.
q) What are the pros and cons of the portable setup?
a)
Pros: easy first time setup, no system configuration needed, great for testing the newest Rope build.
Cons: very large third-party dependency transfer, long first setup time, incompatible with NVIDIA 50 series.
q) Which setup method is better?
a)
Both work. The portable version is easiest. The manual version is faster and smaller. I personally prefer the manual method.
